The Bundl.it Design + More

So hey, it’s Lloyd here. I’m the designer of Bundl.it – and I figured I’d update you guys on where Bundl.it is going!

THE DESIGN

We’ll start with my favourite bit – obviously. We’ve outgrown our petit original design, and we’re finding it doesn’t fit our needs any more. So over the past few months we’ve been working on finalizing a new feature set and designing Bundl.it around that. Our 1.1 plans scaled into a full version release, so get ready to welcome Bundl.it v2!

MYO copy

The original Bundl.it design didn’t really scale well for more than 6 pages, and I felt it was a bit childish.

V3-Rev2POINT81

The new design tackles the fresh, modern look we want people to associate with our V2 product update.

We’ve added an in house advertisement to make you guys sign up to use the service – something you’ll definitely be more compelled to do now. I think it adds maturity to the design. We have no plans to charge for the service at this time.

So, you’ll notice the ability to add a Bundle name, and also the fact that you can edit bundles now! Bundl.it account holders will have the ability to share up to 25 links per Bundle. Also new is the ability to view a fully functioning page from the preview – something we think you’ll definitely like.

THE LONG AWAITED API

The API will soon be fully documented, ready for your creative minds to go to work making something awesome.

WHEN?

Our team is working hard to get v2 out to our users within the next month – so get excited!

Bundl.it 1.1

Hey there. It’s been an eventful couple of weeks for Bundl.it!

Lets start with some statistics. Since launch, Bundl.it has had 3,338 unique visitors, and 6,400 pageviews. This equates to 1.92pages/visit. 34% of our traffic has come from referring sites (this includes links shared via Twitter), 65% of the traffic has been direct, and 0.39% has come from search engine referrals. 57% of you went straight to the homepage, with the rest going to bundles – the most popular of which being this one (created by the princess herself).

39% of you are using Firefox, 21% are using Internet Explorer, 18% are using Chrome and 11% of you are using Safari.

Most of our traffic has come from the following 5 places:

  • USA
  • UK
  • Canada
  • Germany
  • Netherlands

If you’d like any more details, just let us know in the comments.

Now, on to some news!

API

As promised, the API is complete. It’s purely REST calls, and it requires a comma delimited string of URLs – with a limit of 10. Send your requests to http://bundl.it/Capsule/AddURLs and it’ll return the unique ID of your URL.

Preview Service

As you might have noticed, the thumbnail previews are far from perfect. This is one of the reasons we’ve not been pushing Bundl.it to its full potential – the thumbnails ruin the experience. They’re slow, and the “Generating Thumbnail” icon is unsightly. So we made our own! This will be implemented sometime this week, in Bundl.it 1.1!

Twitter Client Support

We won’t be spilling the beans as to which clients will be supporting Bundl.it yet, but there are definitely 2. Exciting!

Slight Design Changes

I’m pretty sure you’ll all notice this one – a slight rebranding to keep everything consistent.

Well, hello there!

Howdy. As you might have noticed, we launched Bundl.it recently! The reception has been great and we’re glad you like it. The stats from the first week have been impressive, and in our view can only get better! So pat yourselves on the back for making us here at Bundl.it very happy bunnies.

The feedback from the first week of public operations has also been great. There seems to be a never-ending flow of tweets praising the service, and we think this rocks! So keep it flowing, and spread the word.

For those of you asking for an API – we heard you, and we are working on it, in fact, it’s been part of the plan all along! So don’t worry, it is coming, along with some other funky features we’re sure you’ll love.

So, here’s a question for you – what else do you want from Bundl.it? Stats? Different themes? Anything. Let us know in the comments!
